Heat pumps are one of the most efficient ways to hear your home. Tillamook PUD offers residential customers a rebate incentive when installing a qualifying heat pump in a new home or converting an electric heating system to an energy efficient heat pump. Heat pumps must be installed by a Tillamook PUD-approved dealer.
Tillamook PUD will provide an energy audit on existing residences to determine other eligible measures for the home. Insulation of ceilings, floors, walls, and Energy Star® replacement windows are among the measures that may be recommended. After the audit, Tillamook PUD will send the customer an energy analysis.

A ductless heat pump system is a highly efficient system that is easily installed as a new primary heat source for electrically heated homes. Ductless systems have three major parts: an indoor unit mounted on a wall, and outdoor unit that sits on the ground and a remote control that controls the unit. The indoor and outdoor units are connected by a small bundle of cables, including a refrigerant line. These cables require a 3" hole in the wall for installation. Ductless systems have an ultra-quiet fan that circulates air evenly throughout living areas, eliminating hot and cold spots.
To qualify for a $1,500 PUD rebate, your home must have electric heat (electric furnace excluded), and the ductless heat pump must be installed by a Tillamook PUD authorized ductless heat pump dealer.
State tax credits are also available. Ask your installer for details.
The rebate program is a limited time offer, based on the availability of funds, and is subject to change without notice.
In addition, qualifying customers may borrow funds at 5% interest for up to five years. Rebate amount will be deducted from the loan amount requested. Customer will receive bids for recommended work from approved contractors, submit a loan application and supporting materials prior to receiving PUD authorization to proceed. To qualify for a rebate or loan, an audit must be done PRIOR to any work being completed. The PUD will inspect the measures after installation.
