Tillamook PUD News
Major Projects
In 2006, Tillamook PUD completed the Tillamook area conversion and the construction and energization of the Wilson River Substation. Combined, these projects were the largest the District has ever undertaken.
Service reliability remains high on our list of goals. Our tree trimming and pole testing and treatment programs continue year-round and have proven to lessen the severity of storm related outages on our system.
Additionally, as part of our commitment to improving reliability and service, we will install Two-Way Automatic Communication System (TWACS) digital meters on every home and business in our service area during the next three years.
This technology will enable Tillamook PUD to have reliable two-way communication between our office and the AMR located at your business or home.
The TWACS AMR system offers both immediate and long-term benefits. TWACS will allow us to get load profile data and usage patterns to better answer questions regarding billing concerns. Following major outages, TWACS meters also assist with restoration of power by enabling staff to quickly determine if residences are with or without power.
Other projects that may commence in 2007 include the construction of a 115 kV transmission line to Netarts.
