Tillamook Oceanside Transmission Timeline

January 7, 2013 — The planning commission approved the conditional use permit application for a proposed Front Street Route; that decision was appealed to the Tillamook City Council.

April 1, 2013 — The city council reversed the planning commission and denied the requested conditional use approval.

April 21, 2013 — Tillamook PUD filed Notice of Intent to File appeal with Land Use Board of Appeals.   This would allow more time for discussions with impacted owners, mitigate impacts and would provide a platform for mediation.

April – August — Tillamook PUD met with representatives from the City of Tillamook and the appellants to discuss changes to the proposed pole configuration and the reduced impacts to private property on Front Street.  The appellants notified the District they no longer wished to continue discussions.

December 5, 2013 —  Oral arguments were presented to LUBA.

January 7, 2014 — LUBA notified all parties that it upheld the City of Tillamook’s decision.

January 14, 2014 — The Tillamook PUD Board stated they were not interested in pursuing further legal action in a LUBA appeal process and directed staff to continue to work with the City of Tillamook in an attempt to come to a resolution on the issues.

July 14, 2014  —The Tillamook PUD and City of Tillamook held a joint workshop on July 14, 2014 on the proposed Tillamook to Oceanside Transmission Line Project.
