Drone- Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)

Tillamook People’s Utility District (District) unmanned aircraft system (UAS) consists of software systems, an unmanned aircraft/vehicle (drone), and trained District personnel. This allows the District to survey and provide recognizance of the electric infrastructure using video, infrared, and other means to inspect poles, wires, and equipment. The District’s authority is granted under the Federal Aviation Administration regulation Title 49 U.S.C. § 40102(a)(41).

The District’s Board of Directors approved the UAS policy that governs the program. In addition, a Standard Operating Procedures Manual has been established to guide the specific uses and process for the UAS. These documents can be provided upon request through the District’s public records request information process.

Requests for public records shall be made in writing and shall be directed to the Public Records Custodian. Public Records Request forms and procedures can be found in the Tillamook PUD Public Records Request section on the Tillamook PUD website.
